Overview
Following a motion passed in the Spanish Congress last December, Spain’s national government has finally commenced the process of drawing up nationally-binding regulations for remote gambling activities.
At a meeting in Barcelona in June, gambling regulators from Spain’s 17 autonomous regions met with officials from the Spanish Tax and Interior Ministries to discuss measures that will allow for Spanish online gambling licenses to be issued to EU-based operators, but will also impose tough sanctions on unlicensed companies targeting the booming Spanish market.
GamblingCompliance’s one-day conferencing event will allow representatives from remote gaming companies as well as market observers the opportunity to learn from a number of local experts how the forthcoming regulations are likely to look. In particular December’s congressional motion stipulated that regulations must fall in line with existing Spanish legislation, and requiring stringent controls regarding consumer and data protection and advertising.
The conference will also examine the likely tax regime, which will be split between regional and national governments, and afford attendees the opportunity to gain the latest insight into Spain’s highly-coveted gambling market.
More widely, the event will provide a unique and indispensible guide to the new opportunities are emerging and how Spain’s wider regulatory landscape is developing.
Participation in this conference can contribute to your continuing professional development (SRA CPD Accredited: 6hrs 30mins)
